This will be composed of an informal assessment, to confirm or rule out the need for OT intervention, and a parental feedback call. This may be more beneficial for younger children, pre-school age.
Depending on what package is most suitable for your child, it may include the use of a standardised sensory processing questionnaire or an initial OT programme for home/school.
This will look at your child's sensory processing patterns, motor skills, daily self-care activities, handwriting and visual perceptual skills. It will include direct assessment (standardised assessment tools will likely be used), review of background questionnaires and previous reports (if available), scoring and consideration of the findings and putting these together into a comprehensive assessment report, with recommendations, as well as a parental feedback call.

Sensory Processing Consultations (for self-referring adults)
While our practice primarily focuses on children, we’ve noticed an increasing number of adults identifying sensory processing challenges they’ve struggled with throughout their lives.
These sensory processing consultations provide individuals with the opportunity to explore their sensory preferences with a qualified Occupational Therapist specialised in Sensory Integration. Before the session, the therapist reviews questionnaires and background information to better understand the client’s needs. During the online meeting, the therapist and client will discuss sensory processing patterns and how they affect daily activities, such as work, learning, leisure, and self-care. From there, the therapist will collaborate with the client to create personalised strategies aimed at regulating the nervous system, improving coping skills for overwhelming sensory experiences, and/or recommending environmental adjustments to reduce the impact of sensory input on the client’s well-being. A follow-up session can also be arranged to assess the effectiveness and implementation of these strategies.
